When you click on these dots a picture of a person will appear with an address and the description of the crime he or she had committed. Vacuum Trucks a Possibility Submitted by Sue Lawrence -- News from the 8th District - January, 2006 - States McCarter Many, perhaps most (?), municipalities pick up fallen leaves with vacuum trucks instead of requiring citizens to place them in bags as we do. There is a move afoot to acquire such trucks for A-CC. Green Acres/Crestwood Association President Andy Herod has written a letter supporting the initiative. Current Cedar Creek Civic Association President Gary Pedeaux and Vice-President (and likely incoming president) Dan Delamater have told me that they intend to do the same. Other 8th District neighborhoods with many trees and leaves may do likewise? I am in full support of this initiative. Please weigh in with the other elected officials and your neighborhood leaders on this issue as you see fit. NOTE: This is already successful in Athens, Tennessee - click here! OPINION: As a "leaf-infested" member of the neighborhood, I WOULD LOVE to have a Vacuum Truck come by and suck up my leafy lawn. Let's find out who we should contact and encourage this movement. -- Pete Barkelew, 169 Tuxedo Rd. NEW!
