I am writing to relay some information about Curbside Services, Inc. (CSI), a local sanitation service solely for our community. If we can get together and utilize this one quality service, we can minimize garbage truck traffic, unsightly dumpsters on our streets (all week long with multiple services), and help each other save money on these services as well. Because we have about 25% participation, our rates are NOW ONLY $17.50 a month, AND we can all enjoy back-door pickup too (for only $7 a month extra). Imagine... 1. not having to take your trash cart to the street again (nor return it to the back); 2. not having to REMEMBER to take it to the street on pick-up days (with back-door service); 3. not seeing our streets littered with these huge canisters, except one day a week (if at all, with back-door services); and 4. not seeing and hearing those loud trucks all week long. I'm all for it!

I personally use this company because they are local, family operated, competitive, very professional and extremely personable (unlike some big corporate companies I've used). Their staff is always courteous and helpful. I know several other homeowners are using CSI as well, with great satisfaction and mutual referral.

As participation with CSI grows in Kingswood, we will all see a reduction in our rates (and exposure to trucks and trash bins). However, of course, there is no obligation to change. If you have another service that you are loyal to, you may: 1. Stay with them; and 2. Submit a proposal as to why we should all use that service, if you like. Also, due to gas prices, these rates will be subject to change. Regardless, we will all continue to save with growing participation.

Curbside Services, a locally owned and family-operated sanitation service (which I personally use) has granted us a huge discount in rates because of our participation. We were close enough to 25% participation in our neighborhood (with 56 homes) that they have agreed to give us a 25% discount on our service fee. Now Curbside is (IMHO) the absolute best, and cheapest, service available to our area. (see their note to Kingswood below, and the Word.doc attachment reflecting our new rates). These savings should begin with their March 1st billing statements.

Their regular rate for service, with a 96 gallon receptacle, has been $23 a month. With back-door service, where they pick up from behind your home (no more toting the canister to the curb and back) it’s $7 more, for a total of $30 per month (what I paid). But now, with our community discount, our service is only $17.50 a month. Combined with back-door pick-up, it’s just $23.50 total. In essence, we now get back-door service for almost FREE over previous rates.

I am very excited to tell you about this – and encourage you to consider changing service providers to Curbside Services! This could minimize the number of garbage trucks in our neighborhood each week (noise and traffic); minimize the street litter often left by less careful services; and, possibly get us to another level of savings with 50% or more participation very soon. BTW, I’ve received many complimentary emails about Curbside. If you’re happy with your existing service, stay with them. If not, please call Curbside at 706-769-1822 and help us get to their next savings level.
