The Kingswood

"Community"

The Kingwood Community prides itself in not only knowing each other, but communicating and cooperating with each other. We hold annual Spring Picnics, Carol Sings as well as Association Meetings, and we utilize a Group Email List for neighborhood announcements, requests and more.

Kingwood Neighbors got together again for an enjoyable picnic on a beautiful Spring day in May. Many volunteers help organize the plans, menu, decorations and clean-up.

A great group of men, headed by Rudy Kagerer, meet early in the morning each year to slow-grill about 100 chicken halves for the main dish. If you're new to our neighborhood, be sure to join us so we can get to know you, too!

Spring Picnic on May 10th a big success... with about 100 meeting at Timothy Road Elementary's Pavilion (in the back) near the playground! See more...

"CARE COOKIES"

To thank the many police officers and firemen who risk their lives daily to help protect our community, Debbie Helwig organized “Holiday Treat Trays” for those on the West side, with the help of many of our neighbors. Here’s what she had to say about that...

“This was a huge effort for a lot of folks, and I would like to offer my thanks to everyone who participated in the Thanksgiving delivery. Overall, for this delivery ALONE, we provided 31 dozen cookies/brownies/muffins, 7 cakes, 2 pies, 3 pounds of coffee and 6 containers of cider, plus festive fall decorations.  The goodies were packaged separately for each shift at the police and fire departments, so we had six separate boxes stuffed with goodies - truly enough for everyone.  The fire and police officers really were touched by your generosity and definitely enjoyed the yummy treats.

And... we have a whole crew standing by to do the same at Christmas time!! If you have not yet signed up and would like to participate in the Christmas delivery, please let me know.  Your assistance is welcome. Also, if you have friends in the neighborhood who are not part of the email group, please let them know they are welcome too and they can contact me at 706-546-0494.

Thanks again for everyone's participation and hard work.
